Subject: Positions at Newport Medieval Ship Project
Project Officer (2 posts) Project Assistant(2 posts) Newport Medieval Ship Project Work is about to begin on the preliminary recording and cleaning policy, as part of the development and evaluation for the Newport Medieval Ship Project. The information gathered over the next six months will underpin a major grant bid to fund the completion of the recording and pre-conservation assessment of this remarkable find. We are looking for two enthusiastic Project Officers and two Project Assistants to carry out this important development work. These posts are fixed term for a period of twelve months. Applications are invited from archaeologists and conservators, preferably with experience in handling and recording archaeological timbers. However, considerable support and training will be given as we seek to build a highly skilled team. Those wishing to be considered as Project Officers will need to be demonstrate previous find recording and supervisory experience. Applicants must be proficient in a range of IT applications and have good communication skills. A full driving licence is also desirable.
