Subject: Tyvek
For some time, our Museum's Loans and Traveling Exhibits program has been using Tyvek 1445A (AKA 'softwrap') for lining cavities and covering potentially abrasive elements in our packing crates. We've been very happy with its performance but recently our packer told me that some of his other museum clients had expressed concerns about Tyvek being used in contact with art. He had no details on what the problem was supposed to be. Does anyone have any information on a problem with Tyvek in museum use? Lynn A.
