Head of Objects Conservation

    The Saint Louis Art Museum seeks to fill the Head of Objects
    Conservation position.  The successful candidate will assume
    primary responsibility for all aspects of the conservation care
    for all objects in the collection, including antiquities,
    sculpture, decorative arts, ethnographic works, and objects made
    from modern materials.  The position will involve treatment,
    research, and the supervision of a staff of at least three which
    includes conservators, interns, and mount-makers.  Experience in
    disaster preparedness is a plus.  The candidate should have
    formal graduate level training or equivalent experience. Minimum
    of five years experience required.  Preference will be given to
    applicants with eight or more years of experience.  At least two
    years administrative supervisory experience is strongly
    preferred. The museum currently has four conservation
    departments with well-equipped labs.

Head of Paper Conservation

    The Saint Louis Art Museum seeks to fill the newly created
    position of Head of Paper Conservation.  The successful
    candidate will work in a recently constructed paper lab and will
    assume primary responsibility for all aspects of the
    conservation care for all works on paper in the collection,
    currently estimated at over 13,000.  The position will involve
    treatment, research, and the supervision of a technician.
    Experience in disaster preparedness is a plus.  The candidate
    should have formal graduate level training or equivalent
    experience. Preference will be given to candidates with eight to
    ten years of work experience.  At least 2 years of
    administrative supervision is preferred.
