Food and taxidermy collections

From: Pam Endzweig <endzweig>

What are your policies regarding occasional food (during receptions)
in exhibit areas, in particular with exposed taxidermied specimens?
All artifactual materials (mainly ethnographic and archaeological)
are in sealed cases, but collections storage areas are elsewhere in
the same building.

We have access to undocumented mounts from a now-defunct museum;
they are probably recent, thus less likely to contain residual
poisons like arsenic. A final decision on their use has not been
made, but inspections have already shown bug damage on more than one
mount, so it is becoming less likely.
