Chief Conservator Cincinnati Art Museum The Cincinnati Art Museum seeks nominations for the position of Chief Conservator. Serving as a major cultural resource for a dynamic region with a population of nearly 2 million, the CAM is one of this country's oldest and finest art museums, with a collection of 60,000 works of art. The Chief Conservator reports to the Deputy Director and is responsible for overseeing the care and preservation of the Museum's collections in consultation with curatorial and other museum staff, as well as the day-to-day management of departmental staff, contract conservators, and interns. The ideal candidate will have a Masters Degree from a recognized art conservation-training program with a minimum of 7 years of experience in museum conservation with specific expertise in painting conservation. The candidate must possess management experience as well as a demonstrated knowledge of diverse factors that influence the preservation of works of art, and the ability to work collaboratively with trustees, donors, volunteers and staff.
