Marshall Steele Third Year and Post-Graduate Internships in Conservation The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is offering third-year and post-graduate internships in conservation, supported by the Marshall Steel Conservation Internship Endowment. Interns will work with important collections of 17th-19th c. British and American material culture under the supervision of Foundation conservators. Interns will undertake an independent research project, preferably leading to a presentation or publishable paper. Internships are available in the specialties of upholstery, archaeological and preventive conservation. Candidates should be third-year students or graduates of a recognized program in conservation. Experience in research, treatment, documentation, and microscopy is necessary, and candidates should have good communication skills. The internships will begin on or after September 6, 2004 and continue for one year. An additional year may also be available.
