regional and local museum service for people in Liverpool and the

    We are looking for a Product Development Consultant to be based
    within the Sculpture and Inorganic Conservation Department of
    the Conservation Centre with an element of on-site work.   You
    will work with a team of conservators and research scientists
    from the Laser Technology section bringing the practical aspects
    of 3D technology to the recording and restoration of sculpture.
    You will produce new products for conservation and educational
    purposes, including the development of 3D technologies for the
    forensic examination of works of art.

    To be the successful candidate you will have a degree in a
    relevant subject, have 3-5 years experience of 3D modelling or
    3D computer use and experience of traditional sculpture
    techniques.  Relevant skills in modelling and sculpture are
    essential; as are excellent organisational and interpersonal
    skills, report writing skills and a full clean driving licence.
    Knowledge of rapid prototyping and experience of working in a
    commercial environment are desirable.

Research Assistant

    We are looking for a Research Assistant to work with a small
    laser technology team within our Sculpture and Inorganic
    Conservation department. You will principally be using a variety
    of laser scanning systems to record objects in 3D and
    manipulating raw data to produce finished images for replication
    work, educational and exhibition purposes.

    To be the successful candidate you will have 5 GCSEs or
    equivalent, a degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or a
    relevant computing subject would be an advantage, as would
    experience of 3D recording. You will have good IT, communication
    and organisational skills and be well motivated with the ability
    to work to tight deadlines. Knowledge of CAD packages, 3D Studio
    Max and an interest in the arts are desirable.  You should also
    hold a driving licence.
