The Library of Congress is seeking an Analytical Chemist with
experience in GC, HPLC, IC, and/or FTIR microscopy.  Research
initiatives may include characterization of aging mechanisms of
different materials and the evaluation and optimization of chemical
processes attempting to extend the life of a wide variety of library
collections materials and to enhance new preservation technologies
such as mass deacidification. The permanent GS-13 position (salary
range $70,519 - $91,672 plus standard U.S. Government benefits) is
located in the Preservation Research and Testing Division of the
Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.
