Conference on textile conservation

Scientific Analysis of Ancient and Historic Textiles: Informing
    Preservation, Display and Interpretation

First Annual Conference
July 13-15, 2004

The Conference, at the  Textile Conservation Centre, Winchester
Campus, University of Southampton, UK, will open at 1:30 pm on
Tuesday July 13, 2004, and will close at 1 pm on Thursday July 15,
2004. Tours of the Textile Conservation Centre and of Winchester
Cathedral with its historic vestments will be available at the end
of the conference, on the Thursday afternoon.

There will be five conference sessions:

    1.  Identification and deterioration of textile materials
    2.  Archaeological textiles
    3.  Learning from the present and the past
    4.  Characterising and monitoring textiles
    5.  Annotating textile biographies
