Subject: Internships at Historic Scotland
Historic Scotland, through the Scottish Conservation Bureau, aims to increase the fund of conservation skills in Scotland through its conservation internship and fellowship schemes. Six 12-month internships will be offered this year to those from suitably-qualified and appropriate backgrounds. Placements will be offered in the following fields: Artefacts, Furniture, Frames and Gilding, Paper, Textiles and Stone and Sculpture. Interviews will be held in late June/early July and successful candidates will start in the autumn. A full advertisement will appear in the May edition of UKIC's Conservation News; it will also be posted on <URL:http://www.sscr.demon.co.uk>. Please note that there is an onus is on applicants from outwith Scotland to demonstrate a strong commitment to staying on in the country after their placement and contributing to the local conservation community in the longer term.
