Salary Range: Within the VPS4 ($52,021 - $59,023) or VPS51 range
($60,023 - $66,323) with salary to be negotiated dependant on
successful applicants level of experience.
Fixed term: Up to three years

This is a rare opportunity to join the Conservation Department of
the National Gallery of Victoria in a period of exciting change.  We
are Australia's oldest and pre-eminent public art gallery and
possess what is generally acknowledged as the most outstanding
collection of fine art in the region and one that ranks with major
collections throughout the world.

Applications are invited for the position of Senior Conservator of
Paper at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne Australia.  The
NGV holds an outstanding collection of over 20, 000 works of art on
paper and over 10,000 photographs.  The position reports to the
Chief Conservator and liaises closely with Senior Curators of Prints
and Drawings, Photography, Asian Art and Indigenous Art.  The
position is responsible for managing the paper and photographic
conservation department, which currently has two prints and drawings
and one photographic conservator under this position.

We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the
role of Senior Conservator of Paper.  Applicants must have a
tertiary qualification in conservation specialising in works of art
on paper and /or photographs with extensive experience working in an
art museum with busy exhibition, loan and acquisition programmes.
You will be a recognised authority in paper or photographic
conservation with a strong record of treatment, collection
management, mentoring, research and leadership.
