An online and downloadable  resource of the American Chemical
Society, "Safety in Academic Chemistry Laboratories", at
<URL:http://membership.acs.org/c/ccs/pub_3.htm> provides a list of
incompatible chemicals and other advice that should be helpful to
Mr. Ryan.  Also, single print copies are free from the ACS.
