Summer Conservation Internship Missouri Historical Society, St. Louis, MO The Missouri Historical Society <URL:http://www.mohistory.org> is seeking applications from graduate-level conservation students for a summer conservation internship. The internship period is ten (10) weeks and the stipend is $4,000. The conservation intern will assist the Objects Conservator in preparing a range of objects for upcoming exhibitions. Conservation projects will include detailed conservation survey of objects slated for display, preparing exhibit recommendations, conducting conservation treatments, and all related work associated with the treatment process. Assistance in the monitoring and maintenance of exhibit gallery spaces (24,000 square feet) and storerooms within the museum facilities will also be expected. The internship is open to students who have elected a specialization in general objects or ethnographic conservation. This is a perfect opportunity for conservation students to gain practical experience in a fast-paced and intense history museum setting. First available start date is June 17, 2004.
