This two-day, hands-on workshop will demonstrate materials and
techniques for the ever-elusive, perfect fills and inpainting on
ceramic objects--from earthenware to porcelain, glazed or unglazed.
After a brief slide presentation and discussion, participants will
attempt fills using a selection of materials. A quick lesson on
painting techniques will inspire participants to experiment with a
variety of inpainting methods and materials. The workshop will
provide a forum for trading tips on failures as well as successes.
Participants are asked to bring a ceramic object to practice on,
although a variety of historic objects will also be available. Space
is limited- register soon.

Carol Snow is a 1981 graduate of the Winterthur/University of
Delaware Program in Art Conservation, where she also had the
humbling experience of teaching ceramics and glass conservation.
Carol has worked in well-funded museums and on poorly-funded
archaeological excavations, giving her a wide range of experiences
in ceramics conservation. A conservator in private practice since
1988, Carol has worked on projects that range from ancient mummy
coffins to contemporary public art.
