"Writing Grants for Conservation Projects" Minneapolis Institute of Arts Whittier Classroom, 2400 Third Avenue South Minneapolis MN 55404 March 25-26, 2004 presented by The Upper Midwest Conservation Association (UMCA) Discounts Available to Qualified Registrants. This workshop will provide instruction on how to write successful grants for funding conservation projects. The goal is for every participant to develop a complete grant proposal ready for submission to a funding agency. Learn where and how to locate funding sources; how to understand conservation grant protocol and the review process; how to conduct an internal review to present your institution and collection as the best candidate for funding; how to develop an achievable project; how to write a practical proposal; how to write a realistic budget; options for raising matching funds, and what to do when you receive grant funding. Receive direct assistance on your draft proposal from an experienced conservation grant writer both during and after the workshop until your application is completed. This workshop will take place from 10:00 to 4:30 each day. The general cost of this workshop is $245 for two-days; with an UMCA membership, the cost is $195. New discounted fees are available to students and qualified institutions. Qualified institutions with budgets at or below $50,000 need only notify UMCA to receive a reduced fee of $75.00 per day or a further discounted fee of $50.00 per day for UMCA members.
