Subject: Seminars on ancient jewellery technology
An Ancient Jewellery Technology seminar 'package' has just been announced for museums and conservation schools worldwide. It includes: * A two-day seminar for up to 12 people on the development of Old World jewellery technology. The chronological range can be adapted, but usually covers ancient Old World and medieval (European and Islamic), but can extend to European Renaissance and 17th-19th century jewellery if desired. Seminars include forgeries and forgery detection. * A one-hour 'public' evening or afternoon lecture on a jewellery history topic aimed at a more general audience. * One day 'on hand' informally to help curators, conservators or students with projects or to discuss objects. The seminars include lectures using dynamic 3-D projection, specially printed hand-outs with glossaries, bibliographies and summaries, and hands-on examination with mini-projects for participants using our teaching collection of genuine ancient gold components. Objects from your own collections can be incorporated if required.
