Senior Paper Conservator or Paper Conservator Scottish Architects' Papers Preservation Project Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) Salary range UKP20,270 - UKP29,870 or UKP14,900-UKP24,100 Applications are invited for a fixed term appointment to 31 October 2004 within the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) <URL:http://www.rcahms.gov.uk>. The post is required to join a conservation team undertaking detailed conservation treatment on late nineteenth and early twentieth century architectural drawings as part of an exciting project supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. A qualification in the conservation of archives and/or works of art on paper and good communication skills are essential; experience of working within an archive and familiarity with IT are advantageous. The grading and salary of the post will be determined according to qualifications and experience. Both grades would involve undertaking detailed conservation treatments. Appointment at the grade of Senior Conservator would require additional duties devising and supervising the work programme, as well as the training and supervision of staff.
