Conservator Kelowna Museum Association <URL:http://www.kelownamuseum.ca> We are looking for an enthusiastic, qualified and experienced conservator to be part of our small but highly-motivated museum team, to work on the collections administered by the Kelowna Museum Association. Situated in the heart of the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, the Museum holds such diverse collections as clothing and textiles, ethnographic materials, natural history specimens and local history items including those of the fruit and wine industries. You will continue the preventive conservation program from the new Ursula Surtees Regional Conservation Laboratory, carrying out environmental monitoring and collections' inspection and condition reporting; maintain and expand the Conservation Laboratory facilities and activities including the conservation and preservation of the Museum's holdings and the regional conservation outreach project; participate in collections management, exhibition and education activities; advise on and implement best practices for a wide range of conservation concerns and development opportunities within the Museum and the region. You will hold a recognized qualification in conservation or have the equivalent knowledge and experience. You will have strong research, written and verbal skills. You will have the ability to work both as a team member and independently. Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Access and Excel) and PastPerfect will be an asset.
