Two practical courses in Indo-Persian miniature painting
London

This is a unique opportunity to attend two five day intensive
courses run by expert practitioner Anita Chowdry to learn about
painting and drawing techniques and the preparation of pigments as
employed by artists of the royal ateliers of Persia and the Indian
Subcontinent during the16th and 17th centuries. There will also be a
rare chance to examine precious original masterpieces from the
British Museum or the V&A collections. All materials required during
the course are provided as part of the cost.

    *   Experience the linear poetry of fine brush drawing
    *   Prepare old paper to take a painting
    *   Learn the sequences and special painting techniques involved
        to create a full colour painting
    *   Create brilliant gold illuminated borders
    *   Enjoy hands-on practical demonstrations of the preparation
        of authentic historic pigments, and make your own
    *   Study original paintings by 16th and 17th century masters
        from the royal workshops

Terms: The course is designed to develop over the five days, so only
bookings for the whole course can be accepted. As places are limited
to 14, early booking will avoid disappointment.

Cancellations must be made three weeks prior to each course in order
to receive a refund of the deposit.
