For the third year, the School of Information and Library Science
will host the Digitization for Cultural Heritage Professionals

This is a great week of hard work and community building that brings
students together with instructors from the University of Glasgow,

be significantly revised this year to reflect new developments,
technologies, media, and issues.

The School of Information and Library Science at the University of
North Carolina, Chapel Hill in conjunction with the Humanities
Advanced Technology and Information Institute, University of
Glasgow, Rice University's Fondren Library, and Duke University
Libraries, is pleased to announce the fifth Digitization for
Cultural and Heritage Professionals course, May 16-21, 2004. The
course ran at Rice University, Houston in 2000 and 2001 and in
UNC-Chapel Hill in 2002 and 2003.

With a new curriculum for 2004, this one-week intensive course will
consist of lectures; seminars; lab-based practicals (offering both
guided tuition, as well as an opportunity for individual practice)
and visits to the UNC and Duke University libraries. The teaching
team includes Drs. Seamus Ross and Ian Anderson from Glasgow, Dr.
Helen Tibbo from UNC-CH, and Dr. Paul Conway from Duke University.
