Objects conservation internship 2004 Summer Internship in Conservation of Archaeological Material in Turkey An objects conservation intern with some training and/or experience with archaeological materials is sought this summer for the 2004 field season of the Domuztepe Archaeological Project near Kahramanmarash in south central Turkey. Students who are currently enrolled in graduate programs in conservation, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for funding from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation. The field season is scheduled from July 20-Sept. 20, 2004, and the project is seeking someone who can commit for a period of five weeks or more, and can work until the close of the season. The conservation intern will be responsible for on-site conservation work, overseeing the operations of the conservation laboratory, processing of excavated artifacts, written and photographic documentation, and the packaging of artifacts for storage. The intern will work closely with archaeologists and other specialists, and independent study and research is encouraged.
