Ceramics and Glass Conservator National Museums Liverpool Pay band 4 Salary UKP15,750 - UKP18,370 pro rata 10 Month Fixed Term Contract National Museums Liverpool is a unique organisation with responsibilities both as a major national museum group, and as a regional and local museum service for people in Liverpool and the northwest. The Conservation Centre is looking for someone to undertake the passive and interventive conservation of ceramics and glass objects in the diverse collections of National Museums Liverpool. These include extensive ethnographic, decorative art and social history collections. As well as carrying out remedial treatments and implementing preventive strategies you will assist with the planning and installing of in-house displays and both inward and outward loans. Occasionally you may be asked to take part in behind the scenes tours or similar events for the public and specialist groups. You will hold a recognised conservation qualification relevant to ceramic and glass objects and ideally; you will have practical experience of working in a museum environment. You will have good organisational skills and be able to keep clear, accurate and accessible records of treatments. You will be a clear communicator, able to liaise effectively with others. Experience of using Microsoft Word, Access and Excel software would be desirable. The closing date for applications is November 27, 2003.
