Forth Photonics and the Conservation Department of the Benaki
Museum, Athens-Greece invite your participation at a seminar on
recent developments in non-invasive diagnostic techniques for the
examination and documentation of artworks and valued artefacts using
MuSIS spectral imaging technologies.

This seminar day will provide an opportunity for conservators,
conservation scientists and scholars in the field of art history and
palaeography to familiarise themselves with the analytical
capabilities of MuSIS systems.

MuSIS systems provide an integrated and highly flexible solution for
imaging and analytical requirements. The exceptionally broad
spectral range-from 370 to 1550 nm-coupled with dedicated software
and a variety of lenses and lighting provides a powerful tool for
multispectral examination and analysis.

MuSIS spectral imaging technology integrates in a single modular
system a range of imaging mode options:

    Visible Imaging and Colorimetry
    Multi-Wavelength Infrared Reflectography
    False-Colour Imaging
Visible and Near Infrared Fluorescence Imaging
    Ultraviolet Reflectography
    Imaging Spectrometry

These imaging modes provide real-time and digitally captured images
so that the MuSIS offers an exceptional range of applications, from
familiar multispectral imaging in UV-Vis-IR to in-situ diagnostic
mapping. Compact and highly portable, the MuSIS performs equally in
the studio, laboratory or on site. Potential applications include:

Advanced examination and analysis of artefacts
    Mapping of previous conservation interventions
    Authentication of works of art
    Real-time monitoring of conservation treatments
Imaging of erased or overwritten historic and literary documents
    Scientific image archiving and documentation
    Dynamic studies of materials behaviour
