The DGPh Cultural Award 2003 goes to Wim Wenders and Mogens S. Koch

Distinction for a great filmmaker and photographer as well as for a
photo conservator and untiring teacher of international acclaim

This year the Deutsche Gesellschaft f|r Photographie (German
Photographic Society) (DGPh) will be presenting its cultural award
to two personalities who have accomplished a great deal for
photography in very different ways through their outstanding work
using this medium. The prominent award this year honors the work and
achievements of the great filmmaker and photographer, Wim Wenders,
as well as the internationally renowned photo conservator and
teacher, Mogens S. Koch, from Copenhagen.

With its Cultural Award, which was founded in 1958, the DGPh has
distinguished scientists, investors, writers, publishers, editors,
lecturers, art directors or important photographers since 1959. The
award comprises a gold-mounted lens designed by Prof. Ewald Matari
as well as a certificate.

Both winners will be presented with the DGPh Cultural Award 2003 on
November 22, 2003 at 7 p.m., on the occasion of a celebration event
held at the premises of the federal representatives from the German
state of Rhineland Palatinate, in Berlin.
