Paper Conservator Museum Conservation Services Ltd Cambridge job opportunity for an experienced conservator. Museum Conservation Services Ltd <URL:http://www.paperconservation.co.uk> has a vacancy for a conservator specialising in works of art on paper. We are seeking an enthusiastic paper conservator with a relevant qualification and a minimum of four years post-qualification experience. The successful candidate will work alongside several other paper conservators in our spacious and well equipped, private conservation studio just outside Cambridge. We are looking for a 'bench conservator' for practical conservation work, and some documentation, conservation mounting and framing. The range of material conserved includes watercolours, drawings, prints, pastels, manuscript maps, and large items. The studio also carries out some work on historic photographs and archival material. Site visits for surveys/insurance recovery/advisory work are also undertaken. The work is varied and at times challenging. Our conservators are well supported by senior staff and may be given additional training where necessary. Most of our work is for museums, historic houses, and institutions. Starting salary: UKP18,000-23,000 according to qualifications and experience. A discretionary incentive may be paid to staff who live locally. The post is full time and permanent. The successful candidate must be eligible for employment in the UK and should ideally have a full UK driving license. Deadline for applications: 21st of November 2003.
