Pre-bent, pure brass mending plates have recently become available
from a conservator/supplier in Canada. They are available in six
depths ranging from 1/8 inch to 3/4 inch. This product has a
superior appearance to those custom made in a vise and the
time-saving factor justifies the extra cost. Straight plates are
also available. Fraser/Spafford Ricci Conservation may be contacted
at info [at] fsrconservation__com or 604-536-3595. Their web site is not
up yet.
