The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston seeks an Assistant Conservator for
the removal of concrete backing, rebacking and conservation
treatment of a large-scale, three-part Roman mosaic from Antioch.

Experience in the handling, mounting, and loss compensation of
large-scale mosaics is preferred.  Must have excellent interpersonal
and analytical skills and be able to work effectively within a group
environment.  Experience with digital imaging and associated
software is preferred.  Demonstrable hand skills required.
Candidates require a graduate degree in objects conservation or
equivalent training and at least one year of additional professional
experience.   Position duration up to twenty-two months.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston seeks a Conservation Assistant to
assist in the removal of concrete backing, rebacking and
conservation treatment of a large-scale, three-part Roman mosaic
from Antioch.

The Conservation Assistant will work with the Assistant Conservator
in the rebacking and treatment of the mosaic.  Bachelor's degree
with a background in art history, studio art and/or science
required; previous conservation experience preferred.  Must have
excellent interpersonal and analytical skills and be able to work
effectively within a group environment.  Experience with digital
imaging and associated software preferred.  Demonstrable hand skills
required. Position duration up to twenty months.
