Mending plates

I just received a shipment of 1/2 x 3 inch Brainerd mending plates
from United Manufacturers Supply, which appear to be real brass. The
last bunch we got from them were nearly impossible to bend without
snapping, so these are an improvement.  I am not sure about their
longer ones (I believe they only go to 4 inches).  You can check

In addition, I am in the process of seeking a shop to manufacture
these to meet our specifications.  As I learn more, I'll post it
here.
