Weathering the Test of Time: The Preservation of Marble Monuments and Architectural Landmarks Friday, November 14, 2003 8:30 am - 5 pm Early Registration Closes Oct. 10, 2003. Historic preservation professionals, architects and conservators will present cleaning, treatment and monitoring practices implemented on marble buildings and monuments. In order to discuss and compare the successes of various approaches over time, the seminar will focus on projects in the Washington DC area over the past 20+ years. Speakers will share "lessons learned" in a presentation format, followed by a panel discussion question and answer session. After the presentations, site visits to relevant monumental buildings in the Capitol Hill area will provide first-hand examples for interpretation and discussion.
