The United Kingdom Institute for Conservation of Historic and
Artistic Works (UKIC)Ethnography Section is holding its annual
Seminar and AGM in Spring 2004 The seminar is titled "Caught in a
Compromising Position"

Papers are sought from those who have had to reconcile and adapt the
demands and changing priorities of conservators of ethnographic
collections within a climate of changing expectations for such
collections.

Possible areas of discussion include; projects or experiences which
have led to interaction with corporate or project culture, funding
restraints, when compromise has been successfully reached, or not.
How useful condition surveys have been in relation to any of these
areas.
