Subject: Call for papers--Ethnographic conservation
The United Kingdom Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (UKIC)Ethnography Section is holding its annual Seminar and AGM in Spring 2004 The seminar is titled "Caught in a Compromising Position" Papers are sought from those who have had to reconcile and adapt the demands and changing priorities of conservators of ethnographic collections within a climate of changing expectations for such collections. Possible areas of discussion include; projects or experiences which have led to interaction with corporate or project culture, funding restraints, when compromise has been successfully reached, or not. How useful condition surveys have been in relation to any of these areas.
