Workshop LiDo EC project--a light dosimeter for monitoring cultural heritage The LiDo Project, aimed at developing a light dosimeter for monitoring cultural heritage (development, testing and transfer to market), will hold a public workshop to discuss the results of the three year-project with a broad audience. The workshop is entitled "Lighting in museums--assessment and control", and will take place in Florence, Italy on 27 / 28 November 2003. The programme and registration form can be downloaded from <URL:http://db.re.fh-koeln.de/conservation/lido/lidonews.asp> Workshop objectives: * To increase awareness of the effect of light on cultural heritage. * To promote a new preventive conservation tool. * To present the development and results of a novel method for monitoring light. * To contribute to a better understanding of artificial versus natural light aging of materials. * To improve networking between different projects on related topics. Who should attend: * Curators, conservators and heritage managers. * Scientists, engineers, architects and technicians concerned with the display of museum objects. * Manufacturers and suppliers of products and equipment for the protection of cultural of heritage.
