Associate Royal British Columbia Museum, Victoria (Canada)

The one-day workshop is designed for those concerned with problems
in contamination and decontamination of heritage collections. The
lecture will cover:

    *   Classification and nomenclature of fungi

    *   Germination and vegetative growth parameters of fungi

    *   Water relationship with water vapor, water in materials and
        water requirements of the fungi: the  key to prevention

    *   The changes due to an infestation in different materials
        (paper, textiles, protein materials and wood)

    *   A review of conservation methods used for removal of fungal
        structure on infested materials

    *   Monitoring the air in collection areas

    *   Prevention and disaster preparedness

    *   Decontamination method and their pros and cons

The workshop will be hold at Chiostro di San Nicolo, via Gragorio
Elladio, Spoleto. Translation in Italian will be available.

Fee: EURO 30
