Simpson. In response for casein paint information used in Europe: Take a look at the Raadvad Nordisk Center Til Bevarelse af Handvaerk [Denmark's architectural conservation center] Their site <URL:http://www.raadvad.dk> has a long section in both English and Danish on historic paints and their formulation. Also included are various notes and commentaries on various paint types usage. Numerous painter's manuals (America, France and England) from the 18th, 19th and early 20th century also contain formulations and application directions for casein paints. If all that fails, a small group of early paint enthusiast can help fill the gap. Richard O.
