A five-day  (30 hours) intensive course on laser techniques for
cleaning stone and metal objects is organized by La Cantoria
Restoration School <URL:http://www.cantoria.it>, in cooperation with
the ELEN group, Italian leader and a European pioneer in the
production of laser systems also for conservation purpose.

The course, lead by specialist and researchers of the laser and
cultural heritage sectors, is designed to provide a broad
understanding of the use of lasers in conservation, and will
concentrates on the practical application. Participants will have
the opportunity to gain familiarity with the laser instrumentation,
performing several laser cleaning tests during the 3 full days
dedicated to laboratory applications.

The course will be held at La Cantoria laboratories, Sept. 29-Oct 3,
2003. The course is suitable for conservators in art and
