Conservation Studios

Shepherds is pleased to offer two book and paper conservation
internships based at its conservation studios at 76 Rochester Row,
London SW1P 1JU.

Each internship would be for six months beginning October 2003-March
2004 and could be full- or part-time.

Both interns will gain experience in the following fields of
practical and professional book and paper conservation including:

    Conservation ethics
    Preparation and use of materials
    Repair and conservation of archives, prints and drawings
    Repair and conservation of cloth, leather and parchment
    bindings, etc.
    Condition and survey reports
    Estimating
    Health and Safety in the studio

The successful candidates will hold a recognised professional
conservation qualification and demonstrate conservation experience
in the treatment of paper and books.
