Fountain

I have an outdoor fountain made of a bronze statue and two stone
basins. The fountain is closely surrounded by 3 cypress trees that
constantly drop plant material into the basins and therefore the
water is constantly very dark green-brown and muddy.

I would like to keep the water clean and clear but the commercial
products often used in these situations seem to always contain
chlorine and or other harmful ingredients to the bronze and or the
stone.

Can anyone recommend a product-method that is harmless to the bronze
and the stone and maintains the water clean in such a green
environment?

Cristina
