Subject: RFID systems
Has anyone considered using writable RFID tags as a means for attaching conservation metadata to treated objects? I am aware of several vendors offering RFID systems that link back to a database. However, I am interested in the idea that an object could carry varying amounts of preservation metadata with it throughout its life. Depending on the object and the amount of metadata required (among other variables), such a tag could be quite tiny and, therefore, relatively unobtrusive. Loren C.
