Citywide Monuments Conservation Program

The Citywide Monuments Conservation Program, a public/private entity
that operates under the umbrella of the City of New York's
Department of Parks and Recreation, whose mission statement is to
conserve and maintain public monuments, fountains and outdoor
sculpture and statuary situated on parkland in all five boroughs of
New York City, is seeking a Program Coordinator.

The duties of the Program Coordinator will include the following:
Coordinating field crews and operations; directing or implementing
conservation procedures; scheduling; purchasing; estimating;
accounting; development; written and photo documentation of
conservation and maintenance treatments; tracking of conservation
and maintenance treatments and documentation; managing monument
database; coordinating GIS mapping of monuments (with Parks' MIS
Department); assembling proposals and final reports to the Art
Commission for approval of conservation treatments; coordinating
emergency response for graffiti removal and other vandalism or
accidents; drafting of Press Releases; acting as press office
contact; assisting Program Director with special projects; serving
as general program liaison when Director is away.

Applicants should have a Masters Degree in Historic Preservation,
and a minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience. Applicants
should preferably have knowledge of objects conservation and project
management; development experience a plus; must be very flexible,
organized, good with figures, and extremely computer literate.
Relevant software programs include the Microsoft Office Suite,
including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Access database program.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
