Technician Painting Conservation Department National Gallery of Art Washington DC The technician is responsible for assisting staff painting conservators using x-radiography, infrared reflectography, and digital image processing. The technician is responsible for monitoring, ordering and preparation of supplies, as well as organization, maintenance and updating of technical files and research related to works of art treated or examined by staff conservators. The work also involves filing, typing, photocopying, and computer database management. The technician does not treat art objects. The position is intended to give preprogram experience for individuals interested in applying to the conservation programs. The NGA's Personnel Office is organizing the job search.
