The Corporation's Permanent Collection of Works of Art comprises
c.4, 000 oil paintings, sculptures and works on paper. London
topographical subjects from the 17th century to the present are a
major element while other strengths include Victorian paintings;
civic and royal portraits from the 17th century onwards; the Harold
Samuel collection of Dutch and Flemish paintings; and the studio
collection of Sir Matthew Smith, comprising 175 oil paintings and
more than 1,000 works on paper.

We are looking for an Assistant Paintings Conservator to assist in
the conservation and restoration of oil paintings from the
Collection. Applicants should have a degree in a relevant subject
and/or a recognised conservation qualification or apprenticeship
plus a minimum of three years' practical experience, preferably
within a museum/gallery environment.
