I wrote this paper 3 years ago and maybe it is of some interest:

I am not using any longer Filmoplast P instead Filmoplast SH a self
adhesive, acid free linen tape for closing up the glass. Also I have
not seen any damage to papyri housed directly between 2 sheets of
glass. I have checked with Papyrus Conservator in Berlin at the
Egyptian Museum with more than 40,000 papyri between glass for over
30 years.
