Try looking in one of the major chemical supply catalogs, such as Aldrich, Cole-Parmer, Fisher, Sigma, or VWR. They all should sell small handheld battery operated conductivity meters that I have frequently used on archaeological excavations when desalinating ceramics. They are usually not highly precise, but are small and inexpensive, typically $50 and up. Of course there are also much more expensive and precise meters that they also sell. Thomas J.
