The meeting of the ALA/ALCTS/PARS Library Binding Discussion Group will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2003 from 8:30AM to 11:00AM at the Metropolitan Hotel, Victoria Room. In my absence, Bill DeWitt, Heckman Bindery, will facilitate a discussion that will include the following topics: Binding Automation: an update on the status of LARS, ABLE and LINCPlus, including development and interfacing with ILS's. Print on Demand: how libraries can benefit from the growth of digital printing and scanning capabilities at library binding vendors. "My Budget's Been Cut!" A panel discussion concerning the widespread decrease in library budgets and how libraries and bookbinders can work together to maintain a viable binding program without significantly sacrificing quality or service.
