Jewish Theological Seminary

The Library of the JTS is seeking a part-time conservation
technician to perform a variety of tasks under the supervision of
the two Mellon Conservators in the care of the Library's manuscript
collection. Responsibilities may include assisting with rehousing
projects, manufacturing of protective encloses, encapsulation,
surface cleaning, photo documentation and monitoring of
environmental conditions.  The position is an excellent opportunity
for someone intent on entering a graduate conservation program.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in an art-related field
or equivalent work experience and should be familiar with the
principles of conservation.  Good oral and written communication
skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.

This position is available for one year with a salary of $10/hour,
