Agricultural and Craft Conservator
Conservation Officer (Industrial Collection)
National Museums and Galleries of Wales

Agricultural and Craft Conservator
Salary: UKP18,500 - UKP26,650

We are seeking to appoint a qualified conservator to care for
the extensive agricultural and craft collections of the National
Museums and Galleries of Wales, held at the Museum of Welsh
Life. The museum is an open-air site with numerous re-erected
buildings, galleries and a manor house.

If appointed, you will have responsibility for the cleaning and
conservation of the NMGW agricultural and craft collections,
both on display and in store, working as part of an
interdisciplinary team of conservators. The ability to work
both alone and as part of a team is essential.

You should hold a recognised conservation qualification,
specialising in the conservation of metals and also have
knowledge of engineering, as the collection includes some
working machinery. Experience of working within a museum
    environment would be an advantage.

Conservation Officer (Industrial Collection)
Contract: 3 Year post
Salary: UKP15,500 - UKP24,088

We are also seeking to appoint a conservation officer to work as
part of the conservation team at the Nantgarw Collections
Centre. The collection is a broad mix of objects, mostly from
the early 20th century, ranging from hand tools, oil lamps, and
clothing to ship models etc. The post-holder will primarily be
involved with the conservation, restoration and preparation of
small objects destined for display at the new Waterfront Museum
Swansea, and conserving other items from the collections, as
    required.

Candidates should hold a recognised conservation qualification
with experience of dealing with industrial items. Applicants
with qualifications and experience in related fields, e.g. model
    making, will also be considered.

The ability to speak Welsh, or the willingness to learn, is
desirable for both posts
