The Preservation Directorate of the Library of Congress announces the following 2 updates regarding its series of lectures on Topics in Preservation Science: 1) Postponed: The April 29 presentation by Ken Harris (Preservation Projects Director, Preservation Directorate, Library of Congress) on "Saving the Written Word: Mass Deacidification at the Library of Congress" has been postponed until further notice. 2) Revised Schedule: The May 22 presentation will be by Chandru Shahani (Chief, Research and Testing Division, Preservation Directorate, Library of Congress), on "Understanding How Paper Ages and How We Can Save It." Dr. Shahani will provide an update on groundbreaking research on the aging of paper, in the Pickford Theater of the Madison Building of Library of Congress, from 11-12:30 The Topics in Preservation Science lectures are free and open to the public.
