Paintings Conservation Scientist Malta Centre for Restoration incorporating the Institute for Conservation and Restoration Studies The Malta Centre for Restoration (MCR) is Malta's national centre for conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, providing diagnostic and conservation laboratory services, advanced documentation systems as well as degree programmes in conservation studies. The Institute for Conservation and Restoration Studies, the teaching arm of the MCR, offers a variety of courses ranging from short courses to vocational courses to degree and post-graduate courses with degrees awarded by the University of Malta. The Centre is an autonomous institution established by law as a partnership between the University of Malta and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Malta. MCR's mission, as defined in the Cultural Heritage Act "is to become a centre of excellence for the teaching, training, research and practice of conservation". The MCR is seeking to appoint on a full-time basis a Paintings Conservation Scientist The ideal candidate would preferably be a PhD holder or be in possession of a Masters degree and considerable experience. Experience in SEM and GC-MS will be taken into consideration. The candidate must be capable of communicating effectively and working within a team. Moreover, the candidate must have lecturing skills and must be interested in tutoring students at Masters/PhD level. Remuneration is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
