The NLS Conservation Unit, based in George IV Bridge, Edinburgh, is
dedicated to applying remedial treatment and protective measures the
most important parts of the Library's collection.

You should be able to adapt to different challenges and demonstrate
a wide knowledge of preservation issues.  The ability to apply
traditional and modern conservation techniques is essential, as are
good communication skills and the ability to work in a team
environment.

You should have a professional qualification in book and /or paper
conservation with two years' relevant practical experience.

Registration with the Society of Archivists and accredited
membership of PACR (Professional Accreditation of
Conservators-Restorers) would both be desirable.
