The application deadline date has been extended by the ROM. We hope
this extension will encourage and provide the opportunity for
qualified candidates to submit an application.  The date on the ad
is now April 17th.

The Royal Ontario Museum invites applications for the position of
Senior Textile Conservator for its collection of 40,000 artifacts.
The conservator will plan, execute and document treatments for
historical and contemporary textiles and costumes and coordinate
conservation projects for exhibits and reserve collections.
Involved with developing and refining conservation standards and
promoting preventive care.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Conservation plus 10 years
relevant experience or acceptable equivalents.  Knowledge of the
techniques and materials used in the manufacture of textiles and of
associated agents of deterioration.  Experience in examination,
preservation, storage and display techniques.  Able to plan
conservation projects, including supervision of others.  Coordinate
scientific analysis.  Proven ability to work in project teams.
Excellent verbal, written, photographic and computer skills.

SALARY:  $CAN 47,298-54,054). per annum.  In accordance with
