The 6th Washington Conservation Guild meeting of the 2002-2003
season will be held Thursday, April 3, 2003 at the Woodrow Wilson
House.  This is the long- awaited, great fun, Wine Tasting Party
with  a  program of four Conservation Spoof Talks.  The Master of
Ceremonies will be Andrew Robb of the Library of Congress.  The
presentation titles are:

    "Make it Flat, Make it Shine, and Make it Fit the Frame:  A Case
    Study of Restoration Methods from the F.D. Kalley Collection"
    Presented by Clarke Bedford, Conservator of Paintings and Mixed
    Media Objects,  Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.

    "Industrial Shrink Wrap Technology in the Preservation of
    Macroartifacts"
    Presented by Jeff Kimball,  Chief Conservator, Army Museum
    System, U.S. Army Center of Military History.

    "Collaboration and Consultation to Develop a Standard Ethical
    and Responsible Approach to Treatment for a small, Indigenous,
    North American Composite Animal in the Collections of the
    Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian"

    Santa Fe, NM; Claire Munzenrider, Head of Conservation, and Mina
    Thompson, Associate Conservator, Museum of New Mexico, Santa Fe,
    NM. Presented by  Landis Smith, Private Practice, Silver Spring,
    MD.

The Woodrow Wilson House is located at 2340  S  Street NW,
Washington, DC.  Take Dupont Circle exit.  At top of escalator go
left on Q St;   right on Mass. Ave.,  right on 24th St.,  right on S
St.   It is the third house on the right.  Very limited street
parking.  Read parking signs carefully.
